Ozarkbuy a book report Rivers Solid Waste Management District (ORSWMD)
The Ozark Rivers Solid Waste Management District (ORSWMD) provides planning and technical assistance in the area of solid waste management for the seven-county region that includes Crawford, Dent, Gasconade, Maries, Phelps, Pulaski and Washington counties. In addition, the ORSWMD has a District Grant Program which provides funding for projects which will reduce the volume of solid waste being land filled through education/awareness, waste reduction, reuse and recycling programs. These grants are available to local governments, schools, businesses and organizations.
The ORSWMD also provides a variety of programs to residents of the region, including special collections for items like electronic waste, tires and appliances; permanent satellite collection centers for Household Hazardous Waste (HHW); and educational opportunities through masterarbeit ghostwriting Earth Day poster and trash art contests and solid waste facility tours for school-aged children.
ORSWMD is governed by a full council and executive board made up of local elected officials and their appointees, and receives input from an advisory committee of local citizens and industry representatives.
